Feedback on Trailer

This is one of my Target audience, she has watched my horror trailer and I have asked her a few questions to see how effective is my trailer.

The feedback I received were mainly positive, she could easily spot the clear links to horror such as the eye contacts and blood. But also  she commented on the music and how it linked well with the different shot types. There was a clear understanding as to what the story line could be.

Final Sound Track

Here is our Final soundtrack, as a group we thought this was the best choice as this went well with all the shots we had and how our trailer starts of smooth and then fastens, this is matched up to the soundtrack.

After target audience feedback

Here is a video that me and another student made based on the feedback we received. We both used the same audience to list the conventions that were seen in our magazine compare to a real media text. Overall, I had positive feedback as my target audience had said my magazine was similar to the real existing Empire magazine. This is a good thing as it shows that I have clearly followed most conventions from the Empire magazine.

Audience feedback

As our trailer, poster and magazine is all finished, me and another media student decided to get audience feed back from our target audience. The two boys in the clip are 17 and 18 which is perfect to evaluate our magazine, we asked them to see if they could spot the conventions used in a real media text which was Empire Magazine to our magazine were we tried to follow the conventions used. The negative side to our feedback is that we only used males, if we had females it would of gave us a more secure idea if what we done was conventional. Here is the feedback we received.

Worldle describing our work

This is a Wordle that I created to describe my trailer, poster and magazine. This is a creative way to review what our targets are looking for when they see our products, we achieved this look by using describing words.

Creating Hayley's look

To achieve the look of Hayley Clark I created a video to show what I done step by step to create the evil devilish look for our trailer. I was following a Youtube clip which I have posted in the past to make the grudge look. Here are some images of how I looked before and then after. Also added a few extra images to see how it looks on camera.

This Is how I created the bruises on my arm with make up. The bruises were to show that Hayley used to get bullied physically to.

Empire Magazine

These are the conventions of Empire Magazine, which we will be following for our poster.

Rouge Pictures

As a group we decided to go for Rouge Pictures as our film company. I have searched for Rouge pictures videos to add in our trailer. This will give our trailer a more professional look.

Here is what we have so for our Poster, It is still unclear of what we picture. We know that the font will have to be consistent in the trailer, poster and magazine.

Audience View

I went around my school to ask different students who are my target audience and in my age range for my trailer to see which picture was more effective. I printed out three pictures which were all options for our horror poster. 

Here is what I found and which picture I will be using. 

Using Adobe

As I am not used to using Adobe fluently, I have been watching YouTube videos on how to improve my skills by adding different effects here is some of the effects I found.

I found out you can add in sounds they have of there own, such as the chalk board. 

Here is how we can play with the lighting of the video to make some parts look darker or lighter which will be great for our horror trailer. 

Film Companies

Here are a few film companies I have found. All the companies have all developed horror films. For my group I believe Rouge Pictures will be the best, as they mainly do horror, but some of there film look amateur like

What we will need

For our trailer we will need a green screening which we state the age rate of our movie, for viewers to see if it is suitable for them before watching the trailer. 

Title for Poster

For our poster we will need a big catchy name for now, we chose Echoing Evil as it is symbolic to our trailer that karma would come back. I decided to go on the website Dafont.com were I typed our horror poster title with the theme horror; here are some that were the best for our poster. 

The first image gives the impression that something must off shattered. Our main character was torn and broken by the bullying. So we could say that by the torment she was shattered which lead her to commit suicide.

The second image looks like the ink has been smudged or swept away, which our main character felt like. It looks as if the wind blew and ruined the font. The connection this has with our trailer is that when our main character comes back from the dead the weather changes also, there are only crows in skies and no life in trees. 

The last image was as if someone drew it with blood. This is very similar to our trailer as our main character uses the blood of her victims to draw here symbols. Which could link to her writing the poster name in blood also, as our theme is black and red. 

What I need to add

From Photoshop I be inserting the age rate, and what company my film would be from. here are two images of what a poster should contain.

We then used Adobe Photoshop to finally edit the images we took. Here are some images of me using some tools and playing around. 

Edited Images

Here are some images that I have been playing around with, using online websites such as Picmonkey and Befunky. These images have been effected from the original images, so see different effects we can use, such as dark edges, black and white image and also Sepia to give it an old effect. Here are the outcomes of the images.

Here are the images, my group has taken of me. we have some close up images of just the face with white contacts. We also had some close ups with blood on the face and just the contact, as we planned. After taking all the pictures we needed we decided to take sum pictures outside, so we can have long shots with background features such as a tree with no leaves, symbolising the no life or growth. then we added the cloudy background, showing weather change after the main character transformed into a spirit.

We then selected the best images that we could possibly use for our poster.

Looking At all the images this was the best image to use for a magazine cover, as it has elements of horror and can be a medium shot as this is a convention of most horror magazines.

This is our week 2 timetable for filming, were we noted again our lessons, frees, lunch and break for filming.

This is our timetable for filming for week 1. It shows when we all have lesson and what are we filming during that lesson, also we have our frees, breaks, lunch and after schools to show when my group can film in our own time to get the work done.

Best look

In our trailer we imagined our girl to have long black hair and to look evil. we had a similar look to the grudge. Which I thought was the best look. Here is a clip I found which I will be copying to create our main characters look.

Aspects of Mise en Scene

This is a random image that I created that i should be looking at when deciding what i will be having in my trailer and what will be shown on camera. I will have to look at each point very carefully during filming as if one is wrong, it may ruin the whole scene.

This is what will we try to create when making our trailer. We will have our main character write in blood.

Empire magazine cover

I came across this image that would be useful to my group as we are creating a similar look. You can see in the image the model of the front page of the magazine is wearing the white contacts which we will be having in our poster. The image gives her a frightening evil look which we are trying to create in our horror movie trailer, she also has black hair which we will be having. This is a similar look to what we are going to create.

Shot List

Looking back at our storyboard, i have created a list with the different shots that we will be using for our trailer. We have a variety of shots which is seen in other horror trailers such as close up of weapons of wounds. also establishing shot giving a time, area and location.
